itself.

## Taxi-specific approvals
A taxi file typically involves, in addition to the vehicle type approval:
- **Taximeter type approval** — the meter is approved as equipment under its own Transport Department
  process, with its own application guidance.
- **Journey recording system** — where required, approved or modified under a separate application route.
- **Acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS)** — applies to quiet electric vehicles, and is subject to its
  own notification requirement.
These are separate approvals with separate evidence. A vehicle that is type approved is not thereby a
taxi.

## Light bus specifics
Light bus requirements include body and seating arrangements that are governed by their own technical
guidance, including seat belt requirements for rear seats and, where applicable, applications to change
